WebPort Release Notes

This topic covers release notes for the WebPort from Release 1.1.

WebPort 1.9.77

  • The Linux operating system and SQLite database engine were upgraded. In addition to security upgrades, this fixes many known issues in the file system, core OS, and underlying support libraries.
  • Require admin default password to be changed at first login.
  • Reinforced the system against memory leaks, corruption, and excessive usage.
  • Improvements to increase the responsiveness of the UI.
  • The “Restore” operation now supports restoring backups from previous versions.
  • A mechanism was created to automatically protect the system from database issues.
  • Improvements were made to address issues associated with Start up, Shut down, connectivity, and synchronization to Connects, etc.
  • Improved PLC communication.
  • A number of issues surrounding “time” were corrected.
  • Other improvements and fixes.

WebPort 1.8.43

This version provides the following functionality:

  • There has been a significant improvement in VPN tunnel connection speeds. Routers have been tuned to optimize throughput speeds, allowing faster access to your equipment.
  • There has been a significant improvement in cell modem connectivity support.
  • There have been many changes made to improve overall uptime and overall availability.
  • Logging implementation has changed for the Alarm, Event, Error, and Engineering logs.
    • When viewing these logs, the software now provides a refresh icon to update the view when clicked.
    • Filters have been simplified to only require specifying a date to start the view.
    • To enhance the user experience, when a filter is applied to the view, the filter icon will show a yellow border.
    • It is no longer an option to purge system log files as part of an Email or FTP action.
    • You no longer need to specify how long to keep system log data.
    • To optimize the way that we preserve system history, the system logs have been removed from the Data Quota feature.
    • Defragmentation of the system logs is no longer necessary. The defragmentation process now only defragments Datalogs.
